Finally, a show that is as fun for you as it is for the kids!
When we go to a Pantomime or the Wiggles with the kids, sure it’s fun, but they definitely have more fun than us adults… am I right? Everyone loves music! Live music, even better… Music that I get to create, now you’re talking! Well, Salaka have designed a show that’s as much fun for the kids as it is for the parents & grandparents. Who doesn’t love banging on a drum!? Our kids will be thrilled to see how much fun we’re having & really feel it’s authenticity – what a wonderful bonding experience!!!
Come & drum with hundreds of other families!
First off Salaka will show us how it’s done with their incredible talents & then get us doing what they did! Imagine the feeling of hundreds of people drumming together in unison to a rhythm… the smiles, the laughter, the squeals of delight!
And the fun doesn’t stop there, we’ll be singing their African songs, dancing African style in the aisles & learning how to make our own music with just our body. We’ll be music machines by the time it’s all over.
We’ll come away with an understanding & appreciation of African music, culture & we’ll also have learned heaps about what life is actually like for people in Africa.

Be part of history!
This is Salaka’s debut BOOM Beats show. They’re usually too busy with all the school shows (they do about 300 each year!!) to plan things for the general public. But this year, Salaka decided that it was time to really live up to their name. It’s time to share their talent with Brisbane! And not just in a way where the audience will sit & watch & say “OOOOOOH” & “AHHHHHH” but in a way that gets the audience to really share in what they are doing.
We won’t just be an audience, we’ll be an orchestra. In a matter of minutes, Salaka will make us the performers – from curious children to groovy grannys, we’ll be the ones making the sweet, sweet music!
At the same time, we’re going to be blown away by what Salaka can do… Think incredible drumming skills & superhuman dance moves.
