Testimonials

“On behalf of the Department of Premier and Cabernet, Community Engagement and Events Division, thank you and congratulations on a sensational workshop at the Sydney International FIFA Fan Fest. Thank you so much for agreeing to take part in this inaugural event which was about so much more than just football; by celebrating community and cultures of the participating nations, African Beat’s workshop was one of the absolute standouts of the event and you are doing a fantastic job in sharing your passion and enthusiasm for drumming.”

Kari Pihl & Kerrie Wilkinson, Sydney International FIFA Fan Fest

We attended your drum class at the Australian Museum in January – it was fantastic! My two daughters loved all the drumming and dancing. I loved that the performers introduced themselves and explained about their cultures and languages. Now my 4yo really wants to visit Zimbabwe and Ghana!”

Sarah Serna, Parent

“The Drumming was fantastic. We have had such good, positive feedback from some of our families that came through yesterday. The children totally enjoyed the experience.”

Kerrie Nobbs, Mobile Playvan

“Uniting Care’s Harris Community Centre has been fortunate to work with African Beat in various UPTown Festivals. These events have provided entertainment to thousands of people in our local community and African Beat has been one of our favourite performers over the years. Many members of the community have enjoyed the fun drumming sessions and even some have been given drums as a gift for their participation. Master Tuza’s performance is always energetic and full of rhythm. We look forward to working with African Beat in our future projects.”

Oscar Sanchez – Community Development Worker, Harris Community Centre

“A huge thank you to the guys for being a part of the festival on Saturday. They were a massive hit and everyone loved them. Lots of comments and feedback to say how terrific they were. They really got the crowd going and the kids loved drumming with the guys. I will definitely use them again on future events, they were fabulous. Super impressed… what superstars they are! Huge thanks.”
